Village Creek Park covers over 1,200 heavily forested acres. The park is located in Lumberton, about four miles north of Book Nook Inn.
Village Creek Park offers, picnicking, hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, wildlife viewing and bird watching. At least 80 species of birds have been spotted in the park. The Park has eight miles of trails open for hiking, biking and nature study. Swimming is allowed at a park sandbar.

Village Creek State Park is a state park in the Piney Woods of eastern Texas in the Hardin County city of Lumberton. The heavily forested, 2,466 acres park opened in 1994. It is named for Village Creek, a sand-bottomed, free-flowing tributary of the Neches River.
There are 33 miles of multi-use trails, campgrounds with bathhouses, an equestrian campground with stable facilities (includes class B campsites), 10 cabins, two lakes, a day-use area with pavilions and picnic sites, outdoor and indoor theaters, a small museum, and a visitor center with a gift shop.
